The site area is approximately 127 Acres gross, however an area yet to be finalised, but up to a
maximum of 27 Acres, may be allocated for the M60 junction 18 Simister Island Interchange road scheme. The Planning Inspectorate are due to announce the result of the recent Public Enquiry in June this year, and the final decision will be issued by the Secretary of State no later than September2025. Other adjacent areas of land may be available by separate negotiation.
The land falls within the proposed Greater Manchester Mayoral Initiative, known as Atom Valley, which seeks to attract advance manufacturing businesses to the wider area. The MDZ aims to attract public sector contributions to infrastructure works.
